It was the summer of 1959. I was a young American student on a summer holiday in Italy. I met a young Italian student named Isabel. She was a demonstrative, vivacious blonde Italian beauty and I was the young and brash, full of confidence, American student. We had a three month romance..she showed me the sights of Rome and Naples..we even took a train ride to Paris...saw the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and had brunches on the Champs Elysees..we promised each other eternal love....and then I returned to America...and, as so often happens with young love, we slowly loss touch with each other. I sometimes wonder how her life turned out..she would now be well into her 60's...and, I must admit, I sometimes wonder if she thinks of me...and that magic summer we shared..way back in 1959.

Oh, Tyler...How I enjoyed that description story!!! It was better than watching a romantic movie. I'm willing to bet that Isabella thinks of that summer of 59 often...and with a beautiful smile on her face.

This is a beautiful portrait, Tyler! And it is possible that Isabella might even see this beautiful work of yours, even more so now than would have been possible during the 60's or 70's! V/F
